Academy Studios Abroad offers a variety of residential art courses. The courses are conceived and led by Tod Ramos who has taught and lectured in drawing and painting in all mediums at all levels, from school to post-graduate, for over 30 years. The premise is to facilitate access to many aspects of art that are so often believed to be difficult to master.
Academy Studios Abroad offers a variety of residential art courses, in Aubais, in the Gard, region of the south of France where there is an average of 300 days of sunshine a year.
The residential art courses are open from September to November and March to June. Both semesters begin with a Masterclass by an artist in a specialist field.
The Portfolio Art Course - for those intending to enter into an
Arts career
A specialist crammer portfolio course is run from March to June, a comprehensive course to
a diploma level designed for School leavers who are preparing for Art School.
Masterclass - for specialised interest
The Masterclass involves one week working with an invited Maestro who is distinguished in a specific field and in the
following week, he or she will work with you.
The Lifesaver Art Course - a complete immersion course in life drawing and painting
An intense drawing and painting course with our life models you will have the opportunity
for over 90 hours of tutored drawing and painting from the model.
Tour de Horse - Special painting course
Due to the success of the Horse Masterclass this course combines the painting of
the horse in different environments and to visit, paint and ride Camargue horses.
Beginners art course - For the novice
For those who wish to study drawing and painting in a beautiful environment,
eat well and have a fulfilling short break.
